NewEgg and Amazon tend to have this drive regularly priced at $150 + Shipping. It gets down to $140 every now and again, thus breaking the $50/TB barrier that the other sized drives rarely do.

Decent reviews on NE (4 eggs) which isn't bad for a consumer drive (and better than the WD 1.5TB Green).

A WD Red would be nice but the $100+ premium they're going for now isn't worth it to me.

I already have one of these and love it. Make sure you format it GPT since MBR only supports 2 TB's. A friend of mine did that and didn't realize it

Also, FYI - I initially tried to install this on my server which is running an old Opteron and DFI NF7 board, and it refused to identify it at all. I thought it was DOA, but works fine on any newer machine.

Just FYI in case you wanted to use this on an older machine

picked this drive up from my local microcenter a few weeks ago for $150. It is the same drive I think and has a 5 year warranty. Says 5 years right on the box. If you read newegg reviews, you will see some made in thailand have the 5 year warranty and the ones made in china have a 1 year.

Ohhh... I might have to buy a pair of these for the 2 bay NAS I bought. I'm thinking of putting them in RAID 1 for HTPC media storage and backup.
