I don't know why you are posting that question in this thread, the Optorite drive doesn't come with Sonic MyDVD software, it come with B's Recorder GOLD5 CD/DVD burning/authoring software, which supports the HD-BURN feature, the B's CLiP for packet writing and Intervideo WinDVD playback software.Originally posted by: wpenhall
The customer reviews on Amazon say that Sonic MyDVD is a very poor piece of software. Is this consistent with people's experiences on this board?
Thanks!

I bought that DVD player recently because it was top-rated at dvdrhelp. It should be able to handle most discs. The impression I get is that DVD burning is like CD burning was a few years ago as far as compatability is concerned.Originally posted by: echeng
I bought the Optorite drive a little while ago, and have burned a bunch of DVD-Rs that work in DVD-R drives, but not in my Sony DVP-NS715P.
My bad, I was using the info from the CDRinfo.com review of the Optorite 0203 drive where there is on mention of the Sonic MyDVD software being included with the drive. Try doing a search at Google.com for reviews of that software.Originally posted by: wpenhall

Well, Livewarehouse says it comes with "BHA Software, Sonic DVD Software." I assumed this was Sonic MyDVD - am I or the site wrong?

So, that Ritek 4X DVD+R I burned will not play on my Sony. The first 10 minutes plays fine, and then it craps out.
Still on the search for compatible media with this Optorite drive! Any tips?
Try a DVD(-)R media, that the advantage of having a drive that can burn both DVD+R and DVD-R media if one format doesn't work in your DVD player you can try the other format.Originally posted by: echeng

I'll believe it when I see it. Who needs to burn a DVD in under 10 minutes anyways?
