**UPDATED with video** "Drifter" tries to show off at Nissan meet and crashes

Don?t know if anyone here is familiar with the "Freakmont" meets. It?s a big Nissan/Infiniti meet that happens every year in Fremont hosted by Team Driven. Every year there is always someone trying to show off, usually it?s just a lot of revving or just burn outs, but this year was very interesting.

It started with a red 240sx who started drifting around on the street and spinning doughnuts. Then this purple 240 came out and tried the same thing. This was a really nice car, a lot of money and work put into it (though from listening to the owner talk that it sounded like he didn?t do any of the work and had no idea what he was talking about). So he goes out and starts to try and drift; he looses control of his car, jumps up on the curb, hits a PERSON, and then smashed into a tree. There was a group of 7 people sitting next to that tree, everybody but 1 got away. I don?t know everything that happened with the person he hit, but from what I was told he should be ok; he was thrown up on the hood and when the car hit the tree he was thrown forward into the tree. He had a concusion, but was still conscious when the paramedics took him away.

Every year the guy who runs these shows has to tell people not to mess around because it attracts attention and is stupid, and this is exactly why. I?m a big fan of drifting and I love 240's, I use to have one, but this is just dumb, learn some ****** common sense.

Yup, it's not uncommon on show cars. A show car has no need for weight reduction and wrapping something in CF is much cheaper than an actual CF part.

Yup, he had an ARC airbox too. The parts, the way he drove and the way he talked all went to prove my point that he was just another guy with money who really didnt really know anything.

Where in the heck was the driver drifting and doing donuts? It doesn't look like there is any room at all.
