Getting beyond ridiculous with the arm twisting techniques to force Windows 10 on everyone.

Okay, so I have run the bat file to uninstall the damned updates, but how do I make sure that the same updates won't be pushed to me again? I don't want an outdated OS but at the same time I will let those updates slide over my dead body, so if anyone knows a way then kindly inform me.

Thanks in advance.

In my OPTIONAL LiveUpdate window is kb3102810.

Per bulletin...

This article describes an update that contains some improvements for Windows Update Client in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This update has a prerequisite.

Issues that are fixed in this update

Issue 1

When you install updates by using System Center Configuration Manager, the installation takes a long time, and System Center Configuration Manager becomes overloaded.

Issue 2

The Svchost.exe process occupies 100 percent of CPU usage when you upgrade a Windows Update client to Windows 10.

So I'm thinking issue 1 demonstrates a good reason to install. Since I'm not upgrading to W10, issue 2 is of no benefit. Should I install it?

Simple, after uninstalling them and rebooting, check for Windows updates again then hide all the updates that appear

KB3102810 and KB3102812 were added to the list and batch file updated.

Also, KB3042058, KB3088195, KB3093983 are currently under investigation by the Matrix authorities.

KB3042058 is listed as an important security update, and I did not find any mention of Windows 10 or Telemetry in the bulletin.

Same for KB3088195. What the hay?

KB3102810 and KB3102812 Only relevant if you receive updates via SCCM according to my readings. If you use Windows Update, then why are they presented??

Those updates are now blocked/hidden using the DWS (Destroy Windows Spying) Tool, which is why I said they are under investigation as I didn't find anything bad about them yet. They are not in the list, all I said is they are under investigation until I can find more proof that they are actually harmful.

Don't worry, I don't just randomly add updates to the list until I find online proof that they are containing telemetry stuff or Windows 10 upgrade

You know you could just not care.

Myself I don't care about the telemetry.

What I care about is keeping my oldish Windows 7 laptop working reliably. I do not need "updates" that are screwing with my resources, hard drive, cpu processing, internet speed, just to "get ready" for a Windows 10 update I may never install.

If I do decide to install Windows 10 I can do so without these "updates".

BTW, my chief complaint about Windows 10 is losing the ability to control updates, particularly drivers.

edit- oh btw, thanks Dell for putting my Windows 7 license key sticker on the bottom of the laptop where after several years is unreadable. So I doubt I even could update this laptop to Windows 10 anyway.

I don't see why not, it does not ask for your Win7 key on upgrade to 10 , my Samsung laptop is the same ie has key on base, it never asks for the Win7/8 key.

There is software (free) available to pull up your OS key; in fact, I use it, cut and paste the data to a spreadsheet... it's much easier than trying to read the miniscule typeset on those stickers.

I've found that interesting... all the updates that 'prepare' your W7, etc system for a future upgrade. What's to prepare? Just seems like if you wanted to update at your convenience, make it part of the upgrade itself. Very fishy.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I wasn't questioning you or your source. Up until now, the Live Update and Telemetry crap didn't cross swords with the Security updates AFAIK. I was just gripping that I can't even trust Important Security Updates without now investigating them as well.

Do you have a smartphone? Do you have your entire life on it? And you are moaning about 10? Eh?

Neighbor asked me to fix his little acer with win 7 that stopped working. His wife only uses it to check facebook.

I told him I'd fix it for him and it was completely unusable, it froze up any time I tried to do anything with it. After several attempts to use it and after several hard reboots I opened up this list on my other computer and systematically disabled all the spying and uninstalled every update on the list.

Lo & behold, the little acer with Win 7 starter edition is running like a champ. All I did was uninstall these windows POS updates for telemetry and Win 10 upgrade crap.

Neighbor is happy. I have disabled all updates on the computer but what choice do I have? He said he would rather have a computer that works with a tiny chance for problems due to being non-updated than a computer that doesn't work for sure as soon as windows updates.

Those a-holes at microsoft have lost their friggin minds with this ham-fisted telemetry & upgrade b.s.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I am glad that this list ended up being useful to someone.

On a side note, My step father called me last week telling me that the computer they use in their optics shop has the same symptoms you described. I logged into it using TeamViewer and after working on it for a minute or so, it would become super laggy to a point that it becomes unusable!! I then removed all the bad updates using the script in the OP of this thread and after a long wait and a reboot, the computer started working again as if it was new! I then checked for updates and hid those bad ones that we uninstalled as they re-appeared and haven't heard back from him after this which means all is good

Makes you wonder if MS is purposely installing these telemetry updates to 7 or 8 in order to move people to 10, by affecting the performance of the OS.

They are destroying 7 & 8 just to push people to 10. No thanks.

I have resorted to turning off updates in 7 & 8 on all the machines that I manage. It's just too much of a headache.

It takes too long to research and figure out which updates are real and which are just spyware.
