I'm not looking to get right on new releases, but my 5770 still struggles at 1080P Med/High settings on 2-3 year old titles.
I typically always revisit Half Life 2 and Episodes, though I know it doesn't take much these days to run them. The 5770 doesn't lock to 60fps at high settings.
I always run vysnc and would like 40fps+ steady.
The more demanding games currently on my lineup are
RE5
Alice Madness Returns
Sleeping Dogs
DMC
FarCry3
Tomb Raider
Hitman Absolution
Would really like to play Titanfall and Watch Dogs with med settings. Will also definatly pick up Dark Souls 2 as a new game. But overall i'm not trying to stay above the cut with titles coming out in next 6 months, I typically wait to buy games.
Budget is 150 or less, used is fine. I'll go bigger on the GPU when 20nm lands if my CPU will still deliver whats needed to fit there at that time.
Considering the 7850 or 650ti boost 660/ti and open to other ideas. Not seeing much of a reason to xfire the 5770.
If there's a big release graphical juggernaut i'm not aware of, I might push budget up an extra 100 bux to get right with it (1080P, med details, 40fps), though I know performance can't be predicted to any detail.
Will overclock anything I get. I have cramped space where my HTPC case goes, so heat is a significant consideration. Prefer something in range of heat output to the 5770 or within 25%.
