What about "Corsair XMS2-6400 TWIN2X2048-6400C4 4-4-4-12 Xtreme 2x1024MB". I can get it cheap here in sweden right now. Or would it be a bad idea when overclocking?

right now i've cranked it up to 3.0ghz with 621/736 on my x1950. . but i've yet to test out the crysis demo with these settings

if you want to play crysis, i'd say get either the new 3800 series or the 8800gt, whichever works for you

doesn't look like you'll be in THAT bad of shape with the x1950

medium

high settings

I bought a 2x1gb set of that ram for my cousin's gaming rig. it's rock solid stable, no problems at all. I believe those are d9 chips, too.

last year there werent any mid range cards... only low end and high end...
The 8600 is the low end from last year...

You would want a mid range from this year (which performs on par with the high end from last year)...

The only cards worth buying right now are the:
3850
3870
8800GT (256MB and 512MB versions)

Dell has the lowest prices on these, and they are all in stock... but due to Christmas it will take 1-2 weeks to ship.

Thanx, taltamir! Looks like I'll get the 3870.

I would still like some (more) comments on my mobo/mem choice:

Asus P5KC
Corsair XMS2-6400 TWIN2X2048-6400C4 4-4-4-12 Xtreme 2x1024MB

Is there any drawbacks with this combo motherboard? Should it overclock like the P5K-E? What about that mem and its overclocking potential? I would like to be able to take the E4500 to atleast 3GHz.
