Upgrade GPU \ 4K

I am looking to upgrade my GPU to accommodate either a 4K monitor or at the very least something better than 1080p (better resolution), my current specs are below, budget would be around $300.00 MAX, $200.00 would be better, this is strictly for gaming really.

Mobo: Z170A SLI Plus

CPU: i7-6700K 4.00GHz

Memory: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 16GB 2133MHz DDR4

GPU: Radeon RX 580 8GB

Power Supply: EVGA 600 B1, 80+ BRONZE 600W

A hard $300 puts you at a 1660ti, maybe you could find a 2060 for $310 out the door. Either way neither are a good upgrade over a 580 at 4k. IF you are still on 1080p60hz then a nice 1440p144hz monitor would be a solid upgrade and gpu upgrades don't have to so expensive. All of this is moot if you are playing old games, if true might as well buy the monitor and see if your 580 meets your needs.

You might want to check the Asus MG278Q27". It is a 27" monitor with 2560*1440 resolution with G-SYNC and FreeSync support and with HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI connections. Like most 144 MHz monitors it has a TN panel.

Funny, that's actually the monitor I have.

Your price range is not enough to get anything that would play at 4K.

Best you can do is sell your 580, if you can get $100 for it, and put another $300 towards videocard you'll get enough to buy 5700 XT, that'll be the best you can do.

dont bother with a cpu get best nvidia card you want to buy in the 20 series

If you have a 580, aren't selling it, and only have $300 to spend then I wouldn't buy anything.

If you can muster $400 then I'd recommend an AIB 5700XT. The Sapphire Pulse is $410 and the excellent Red Devil is $440.

I think you'd be much happier waiting and saving up some more money.
