With a GTX760 you'll run almost all the games available on the market (if not all) on ultra settings.

no you won't
THis I agree on. A 670 is weak. Its a disabled/defective GK104 chip. Even a fully refined and functional OC'd GK104(GTX 770) can't play all games maxed out at 1080p.

Minimum needed is a single GTX 780 Ti.

In order needed:

GTX 780 ti (some people may toss in a pair of GTX 760 SLI in here too)
GTX 770 SLI(GTX 680 sli)
GTX 780 SLI
GTX 780 ti SLI

and what exactly do you think you're doing right now? Just a little bit ironic isn't it?

I did it to prove a point and bring it to your attention. You did it because you like telling people "you're wrong, I'm right" even when in the practical sense, the opposite is true. Professional reviews don't references max settings the way you think they should. So no, it isn't ironic at all.

With a GTX760 you'll run almost all the games available on the market (if not all) on ultra settings.

Certainly not all, at least not at 1080p or higher but it is still a very capable card.

sorry but its you with the complex here not me. all I was saying to him was that its not possible to max all games for the next few years when even some current games can't even run at 60 fps now on actual "max" settings.

Yes, I know what you were saying the first time. Doesn't change the fact that you're in the minority when referencing max settings. ie: You're wrong.

Max settings by your standards would also include the maximum resolution the game engine is capable of doing. If you're going to use the term THAT literally instead of widely accepted meaning of the word, why stop at AA?

so in other words the ridiculous irony continues...

YOU are the one nitpicking, trying to make this a you are right I am wrong scenrio and clearly have some sort of complex. the fact that you can't even see how the very things you said about me actually apply to you is hilarious.

Would you say it's highly annoying and completely unnecessary?

I'm glad I made my point even though you failed to recognize it.

the only thing people will recognize is your hypocrisy. I made direct on topic reply about it being too optimistic for future games to get 60 fps when not all of them can do that now on full max settings. you did nothing but turn this into a personal attack and make accusations that ironically describe your behavior.

I'd quote myself, but then I'd just be saying the same thing over again as you are. I'd give the max settings stance a rest. We've already established your view differs from how most everyone else use of the term, and isn't even really "full max" either.

wait so before I was in the minority but now I am the ONLY person? lol

and what you still cant comprehend due to your attitude here is that I was not correcting him. he just made the general claim of max settings and I was simply saying that on "full" max settings thats not even possible in very game now if you want 60 fps. in other words what you keep failing to see is that I was being more specific where as he was not. so again, you are the one having personal issues and trying to make a big deal out of nothing.

Guys, give it a rest and get back to the topic in the OP. Start a new thread on the definition of "max settings" if you want to discuss it.

Personally I'm going to wait for the 800 series, I'm probably going to move my R9 280X to the AMD system and throw in an Nvidia 800 card into the Intel system when the time is right. The 750Ti sheds some light into what the Maxwell cards will offer (hopefully) soon.

Nope, you'll want high in lots of games, some games you can get away with ultra with mixed settings (I set ultra on a few things in Planetside 2 and Battlefield 4 for eg).

Those eBay R9 290s all look like a great deal, the main issue I have with them is they were all likely used as mining cards. This means 3+ months of 24/7 high temperature load. Considering the fact that these cards run HOT to begin with, and they're just consumer level cards (not designed for 24/7 load) I wouldn't be comfortable buying any of them.

No need to wait... I said "most everyone else" you'll rarely see me speaking in absolutes. Feel free to PM me to discuss further.

As far as the 290 suggestion, it's a good one. If the card still has at least 1 year left on it's warranty I wouldn't be terribly concerned if it was used for mining. Also keep in mind that the crypto currency crash brought the value down for ALL the popular GPU's that were used for mining, and not just ones actually used for mining. Since there's really no way to tell if one was mined with or not, someone selling a 290 used for gaming is forced to sell it at an equally reduced value, so you may not necessarily be buying something used for mining.

But you probably are...I'd venture the vast majority of people selling 290s at the moment were miners, not gamers.

Perhaps, which is why it's important to make sure it still has an intact warranty.
