Hello everyone.
I have about 300 dollars put away for a new GPU to replace my aging 760, im waiting for specs and price on the 1060, as i only game at 1080p.

With that being said i'd like some input on what i should upgrade after selling my 760 when i buy a new gpu.

My rig:
I5-3570k h60 liquid cooler
Asrock z77 pro3
8gb g.skill ram at 1600
Corsair 300r case
500gb hdd (new 2Tb on the way)
Corsair 600cx psu.

Thanks for reading, and on a side note not really intrrested in a ssd.

Never mind.

Didn't see you don't like SSDs.

Nothing else to recommend.

Nothing.

your only bottleneck is your hard drives and since you're against SSDs there isn't anything you can do about that.

More RAM if you think you'll use. No reason to upgrade CPU for several years, especially if you're only going to be getting a GTX 1060.

You might get 8GB more RAM. Couldn't hurt, especially without an SSD.

What is it you don't like about SSDs? If you're worried about losing data, you could try Intel Smart Response in "Enhanced" mode, which always stores data on the HDD.

Its not that im against ssds, my boot time really isnt that slow, and the price for what you get really doesn't seem worth it to me. But if there are other perks to having one i spose it wouldnt hurt to pick one up.

I was looking at the corsair 240gb le at $60 ish, any other perks to having one? And any recommendations ?

Also i was thinking of getting an nzxt s340 in white with the hue+ for an aesthetics upgrade, i think paired with a ssd would be a pretty satisfying to resolve that damned "upgtrade" itch. Let me know what you guys think.

Boot time is the least important reason to get an SSD.

Pretty much everything is zippier. From opening folders to launching applications to reading/writing files. Just about the only thing that doesn't see a big improvement is FPS/gaming and CPU-bound stuff like video transcoding.

You might not notice right away - some people don't until they go back a few months later and try to use a computer without an SSD. Then it's like getting kicked in the junk.

Truth.

I absolutely hate working on family/friend's computers when they don't have a SSD.

Horribly slower.......guarantee once you install and use one, you will never go back to a hard drive for your OS.

Any SSD will be an improvement over what you are using now, but the Samsung 850 EVO, PNY CS2211, Sandisk X400, and Mushkin Reactor are rated the best budget buys right now according to the article. The CS2211 at its current price, is the best price/performance drive from those choices.

Yup, every time I use a computer with a mechanical HDD, I keep thinking it has locked up on me. It is one of those things where, once you used it, there is no going back.

+1 for the ssd. It's also possible to have programs and the OS on an ssd but map the documents, downloads and games to a HDD. This allows you to get by with a smaller 128gb ssd but maintain the large volume of an HDD for larger files and storage.

Well its valued at around 120 to 150 it has the orignal box, manuals, original leather case, and flash attachment, 100% working. So thank you for your constructive comment.

Well you should get interested. Otherwise your OP is like a dude pulling up into a body shop in a car with a giant dent on the driver side door and saying "I would like to fix this ding on my bumper so my car will look perfect. The SSD is your singularly obvious upgrade path.
