Upgrade Recommendations?

i'm itching to put a new toy in my box, but i don't know what or if i need to or even can. here are the main specs

u.s. robotic 56k modem (dunno what else to do with that isa slot)

i'm not sure if i can oc it, but i'm satisfied with the 350mhz anyway. there's extra fans in the case: 120mm panaflos in the dell and i'm going to put a 92mm in the scsi box. i got some pretty clean holes on the dell case, maybe i'll post a pic someday - if anyone needs to mod their dell.

so maybe another 128 stick of ram? don't know if that'll make a difference...
so any ideas?

bwt, does anyone know if this dell mobo can detect cpu temp or rpm? i can't find it, if it's there.

I suggest stepping up the mobo/cpu and that's it.
Celery ~500 and OC....THAT would suit those fan's needs...or is it the other way 'round?

ps:How's that PS@200? Maybe 250?

If you upgraded anything, I would say the CPU.

What speakers do you have? Perhaps you could get a new pair and a DVD drive

I do not this another 128Mb stick would make a big as difference as a new CPU

A new CPU would probably be the best choice. A Celeron II or a Duron would both be good, but buying a Duron would also mean a new motherboard. If you buy an Intel chip and want to overclock it I would recommend buying a new motherboard that's geared for overclocking, like an Abit BE6-II or MSI BXMaster. Hope this helps.

P.S. you might also want to consider a new power supply! I don't know how you have all that going on just 200W but it's impressive to say the least!

If he upgrades the cpu, he needs a new mobo and a new Power supply. CPU upgrade would be your best bet, and sometime you're gonna have to outgrow that Dell case.

edit: I'll bet you can overclock that Dell, when did you buy it? If it's from before 8/98 then you may be able to overclock it to 400 or 450

You can't go wrong with more memory. Also you could stick up to a PIII-500 proc in there as long as you flash your bios. I stuck one on my 440bx it started out as a Gateway PII-400, now it's a PIII-500.

200w is just the dell case. the scsi box has its own ps.
i have ada880r speakers.

A bigger monitor is what you need. Personally I would go with a slower system and a good 19" or 21" monitor.
