So I'm due for a phone upgrade by far. I'm running a 5 and I've never had a phone more than 1 year. I'm going to pick up a 6S PLus this week but I'm debating where. I'll probably just got for the 128gig at this point and with it being black Friday I'm debating where to go. I usually hate this holiday and won't go out but I'm thinking if I show up at walmart, I can likely get a 128gig 6S plus for the deal they are offering as it's the top end phone there. BUt if there is another deal close or that I can do online I'm all for it. I just figured $100 store credit, plus $100 bill credit is tough to beat.

I'm on AT&T as a reference point.

Do you need 128GB? Why not 64GB?

Considering how long I kept the last phone and the fact I can see myself putting movies on this for the plane or business travel, I figured I'd go larger. The difference is so little and I expect I'll hold on this for a decent time. but your right the largest I'll probably his is like 50-60 gig.

These days the difference in price between the 64gig and 128gig - just seems no point to not go big. Besides it sucks to have a phone hit the limit where you have to delete photos or music or apps etc...

Fantastic forum for deal tracking, especially for Black Friday stuff. You'll probably have better luck comparing deals there than anything we can share.

Nothing better than paying for storage over and over again. No wonder Apple is swimming in cash

So much this. I've got the 128 6S Plus right now - and I have less than 60GB free with all of my music on the phone. I REFUSE to deal with playlists for music. I sync it all. Our phones should be 32GB by default these days, 256GB should be possible anymore. Esp with 4k video.

Also - consider Verizon like someone else said - they're unlocked phones. You don't even need an unlock code, just shove a non-VZW sim in and go.

Just curious, why do you have all your music on your phone? I have 60GB of music, but think I only use MAYBE 5GB on my actual phone or iPad, and still have access to all my music. I just pay $25/yr for iTunes Match and store the music in the cloud. I can stream, sync playlists, or just download the music locally if I want to play something offline. The great thing is, I have access to all my music on all my devices.

That being said, OP go for the 128GB. Pictures, videos and movies will take up a ton of space. Bought my wife a 128GB iPhone 6s, and she should be good for a couple more years until Apple comes out with their 256GB iPhone.

I go into the mountains enough for boarding, hiking, shooting, camping...I'm on WSDOT ferries across the Puget Sound and so on (a lot of WA itself has, at best, 1x coverage on Verizon, forget other MOs.) Tons of places with no coverage...and I really don't care to decide in advance what I want to listen to. I prefer to decided when I want to. So that means that my library goes with me. With storage being as cheap as it is, I shouldn't NEED to pay through the nose for 128 or 256GB...if only the manufacturers gave two ****s about their customers and put SD card slots in....

Basically this. I don't care to choose music in advance (it's only 8 gigs) so I sync it all locally.

I ended up with the 128 gig iPhone 6S Plus from BB. $250 gift card which I guess I'll use on a new sonos addition.

Trouble is you lose band 30 lte if that's important to you. Its just rolling out on ATT, so probably not a big deal. ATT has the best hardware, but you have to go through the hassle of unlocking.

It's just rolling out...who knows when you'd see it. Verizon LTE in Seattle used to be incredibly fast...now it's just "meh" since everyone is on it finally. I'd rather they skip the new bands and instead work on handling more load.

Also, Band 30 only matters for AT&T - any other US carrier would need a new band.

Fair enough, but the OP is on ATT. I wouldn't pass up saving a couple hundred bucks buying it elsewhere. FWIW I understand the new band 30 is to help with the load in very crowded areas.
