Hey All:
I am currently running an i5 760 @ 4GHz and have no headaches with stability and no problem with performance. As well, my GPU is an EVGA 670. I don't do any video editing or the like and the only process-intensive task for which I use the rig is gaming.
I was planning to purchase an additional 670 at some point in the future and was wondering whether I should upgrade my CPU now so that whenever I do get the additional card I'm not bottlenecking the cards.
I have two quick questions I was hoping you all might be willing to address:
1) From the little I have read, it would seem that Ivy is not the easiest proc to OC so I'm leaning towards going Sandy even though the stock performance of Ivy is superior. Do you think this is a sound approach?
2) Do you think if I move to 670 SLI I actually will be bottlenecking the cards or will the performance of my OC'ed i5 760 be sufficient? Would it be more prudent to wait until Haswell is released towards the middle to end of 2013?
Thanks, in advance, for any insight or advice you all might be willing to provide.
Regards,
