upgrade video or not!

My other computer has a basic PC100 board running celeron 366, 192 meg ram, 8 meg ATI expert card. Only run game at 2D. Wondering should I upgrade video to Geforce2 MX card or should I wait until another new system in 1 or 2 years.

You might want to upgrade, 1-2 years is a LONG time with a slow video card. I think the MX (or other "budget" type card is a great choice, they are not all that much slower than their expensive big brothers and are cheap!).

Oh man, with the numerous games coming out, you definitely should upgrade that graphics card of yours. Just buy a MX card and you'll be set to play most of the games. 1-2 years for a new system is a looooooong time to be waiting ~ i don't think i could wait that long. If money is tight, just wait for that new system and save that $80-90 of yours. Otherwise, upgrade that vid card!

A *lot* of people have been disappointed at the actual performance of their MX's. Sure, $90 is cheap and better then an ATI expert, but $50 more gets you a ATI Radeon 32mb DDR powerhouse. Consider saving for a couple more months, not years though.

Also consider upgrading or overclocking that CPU, to a higher Celeron, or Duron (even better). With anything powerful today a 366Mhz CPU will be your bottleneck

As you can see, I just got a 1.1G Athlon, I do have a system to go fast. Just try to go cheap to bring the other system to par. Big Lance when you talked about other budget card, what do you mean by that. I am afraid that onece I got the video card I may go for cpu upgrade etc.
