With my current system I have now what should be the next thing to upgrade? I was thinking the ViewSonic VP912B. Any suggestions?

What kind of apps do you run with your current rig?

Your rig seems very good to me IMO, and I won't upgrade if I were you unless I needed more GPU power.

It's defineitly an excellent monitor, even for gaming. With graphic hound games like HL2, D3, and Far Cry you might have some difficulty in the future playing games in max details at its native res of 1280x1024. You might get by however by overclocking your 2.8c Intel to 3.2-3.4 Ghz.

The games I play are CoD, warcraft, and CC generals. Thought about HL2

You'll be fine then. If you have to you can lower the res. You wont get the best results but it wont suffer much.

So for that monitor and with the setup just lower the res or lower the detail? Which would be the best option?

Lower the res. A game like D3 in max detail you might be better with a lower res. HL2 you could play at it's native res. It wont be a big deal.

Is 2.8 really now that much of a bottleneck?
