First, let me state that I'm not sure which forum this question belongs to.
I have an old Dell Vostro 3500 which has an i3 processor and came with a 320 HDD and 4 GB RAM. It has Windows 7 on it.
First, I updated the RAM to 8 GB (Crucial) and the computer ran fine. Then I installed a Crucial 1TB SSD. Using a USB windows 10 media drive, made on another machine, I tried to install win 10 but after it through BIOS its starts with the windows logo and after a while gives an error message:
Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart
Stop Code: KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE
The computer then goes into a loop and repeats the boot up and error message sequence.
I'm not sure what to look for. If I put the old HDD back it works fine. I have run diagnostics offered through the boot menu and get no errors.
Anyone come across this before? Or have any suggestions?
Thanks
