If you don't travel, I would say yes, but if you do, or want to, the Amex Green, Gold, and Plat cards are the best because you can transfer the points to airline and hotel programs and get more than a penny a point worth of rewards.

That's been looked at on some of the Finance boards. General consensus is that the Amex Starwood is a better deal for travelers than MR on Amex.

I'm gonna break my lurking streak for this clown, since Azurik did not bother to properly own him...

PS: My jeans are from the Gap.

I'm about to spoil your parade. You have a American Express business card. You probably run business revenue through that to qualify, not personal expenses.

It's not a personal card and it's not the same thing.

Run $250,000 through your personal card and then give us a call. You lose, try again.

I've had a Platinum AMEX for years. I didn't realize there were people out there that think it's some kinda big fucking deal. Still gotta pay the bill in the end.

Another thing is they don't just offer the Centurion to anyone who spends a certain amount - we've met that consistently and never seen a mention of it from them. If they did, I'll turn it down. I'm not paying those fees for benefits we'd never use. The Plat costs enough.

Hey are there any good deals offered now for Amex Platinum. I am going to be doing a lot of traveling soon and was going to go ahead and pick up the platinum card. I know earlier in the year they had 100k signup bonus.

Sherbank Visa Infiniti Gold Card

Sherbank created this exclusive credit card for their top 100 customers. It is made with 26 diamonds and the card itself is made out of solid gold!

The cost of this card is more than what most Americans make in a year! For the first year you will have to pony up $100,000 – that’s $65,000 for the card and the $45,000 goes as a sort of security deposit for your credit line. Then after that, it’s “only” $2,000 per year.

Does that come with mileage bonus lol?

My bad on the necro thread. I noticed other people doing it so I thought it was protocol instead of opening a new thread.

Are all VIP lounges open bar? The one I went to in Atlanta was.

I would only need about 4.5 visits to a VIP lounge to recoup the $450

I hardly ever travel by plane though, so no.

The VIP lounges I have been to have all been open bar. The platinum card also gets you global entry for free and 200 bucks in free airline fees. You can 200 bucks worth of airline gift cards and it will qualify for the 200 credit.

My question would be, does it actually get you into the airport VIP lounges? Adam Carolla has a Centurion AmEx and says it never gets him into any of them (plus he complains that the card just confuses people when he uses it at regular stores like Home Depot).

So they magically steal $10,000 from you?
