Where did you here this? The A2 Value and and A2 Zs are identical except for:
1) A2 Zs has firewire
2) A2 Zs is THX certified
Otherwise, it is the same chip/drivers.

In BF2 make sure you have enabled hardware sound under the audio options tab.
What were your settings before and now?
Did you uninstall the old audio drivers and disable the on-board sound in the bios?
