What is the chipset? I think CrapPaq uses mostly Intel, not Via... so likely NOT.

I ordered a few Celeron-II's from them and when they were out of stock on one of the ones I ordered, they upgraded me for free and refunded my shipping for the delay. I am very pleased with this company.

taserT -- yha, but I don't want to screw them. Bottom line is that I appreciate that if their price drops they pass it along. Their policy is that if you place the order, you accept the price. Seems fair to me, as at some point it could go UP.

Someone on FW forum said they just ordered at $49 and shipping came out to only $9... anyone confirm?

Geesh, is 256MB RAM going to be $25 in 30 days? I keep buying more than I need because I think it is such a deal, but it is all relative.

For all these questions on what motherboard it works on -- has anyone been able to find the original (200+ post) thread?

mrVW...i understand what you are saying, but am now wondering what their policy means when it says all sales are final? does that mean if you have a problem with the order (not working, damaged, etc.)that it can't be returned? i'm just going by what was posted here since i didn't check it out on their site. if all sales are final when you complete your order then i would have huge reservations about ordering from them. can anyone clarify what their guarantee policy is?....taserT

Has anyone tested this on a KT133? Like a Tbird 900 desktop home PC running win98SE, would that RAM be stable in that environment? I'm not running any server or anything.

taserT -- look, any mail order has more risk than a local store. I've ordered from these guys before, as have others. someone returned theirs (back in the January thread) and had no problems... typical took time for delays.

What i'm saying is that refusing shipment just because the price changed isn't legit to me. They are up front htat their price changes daily.

Yep, i was tempted to buy one but after reading all the specifications, BX chipset doesnt seem to work with 32Mx4 modules. But its a damn good price for ppl who can get it to work.

The issue is that 32Mx4 is newer design... only been on the market recently. Intel has always been behind the game on chipsets. The i430FX chipset would only take DIMMs of first generation format too.

The i815e's limited RAM compatibility is a direct results of Intel spending too much time screwing with Rambus. Via is way ahead of Intel in support new generations of RAM. Look at the new mainboards with the DDR support.

Ok, so why are there only some KT133 boards that work with this 32x4? If it's true that ram depends on the chipset, and if the KT133 chipset supports 32x4, then all KT133's should work with 32x4. Am I wrong?

mrVW,

As another user suggested:

<< mrVW....can't you just refused the package when they try to deliver?...taserT >>

This would not be a good idea. Their policies state that if you refuse shipment, a 20% handling fee is applied. Ouch!

Thanks for posting this deal. I ordered two sticks and the shipping was only $9.99, but I was jammed with $4 in tax since I live in Virginia.

UpgradePlanet hasn't been around very long, but Memory-Plus has. M-P is affiliated with U.P. as indicated on their Web site. I've purchased from M-P before because they have a presence at our local computer shows in the D.C. area. M-P was a great vendor to deal with. I was allowed to do a memory upgrade when I wanted to double my memory amount two weeks after purchasing some memory. I was given full credit for the orginal memory which I applied to the new purchase. I believe M-P was started a few years back by some people who used to work for GT Computers (Woodbridge/Herndon).

Thanks again for posting this deal...Photoshop is going love the additional breathing room once I install the new memory.
