Only warm. Was $42, but now $50. Update Monday March 5 - Now $42, was $45 Monday! They will NOT allow you to adjust price if it goes down after you order! So get in when you think it is best, it does go back UP at times. The previous thread has notes indicating it was $78 back on December 18, 2000. Keeps going lower and lower.

UpgradePlanet generic PC133 CAS3 32Mx4 DIMM

Shipping is $10.50 UPS ground if you get 1 or 2... makes sense to get at least 2 to save on shipping. They ship out of Washington DC area, and I have found they take 1 to 2 days to get the order packaged and out the door. They don't do the best job protecting the shipment... just a bubblewrap envelope (nothing ridged), but mine arrived fine all the way in Seattle (8 days via UPS GROUND!) and no problem.

I purchased these 1/13/2001 at $70 each.

Yes, there are good deals on RAM everywhere... I also got some of the Crucial at $90 for 256MB PC133 CAS2. But I'm not a freak about CAS2 vs. CAS3... I know in 6 months they will both be slow compared to commonly available PC2100 You get what you pay for, this deal isn't for everyone.

Last round, they were shipping at least 3 different brands of memory... toward the end everyone was getting the
Triangle Logo Mystery Brand (which I got). Works fine in my Asus P3V4X Via 133Pro motherboard... I run at 133Mhz FSB CAS3. I currently have 2 of the Mcron (Crucial) and 2 of the TriangleLogo sticks... I'll be moving the Micron to another system and have all 4 of the UpgradePlanet RAM in my main (P3V4X) system.

Enjoy.

Do the sticks you got have chips on both sides, or on only one side?

Thanks!

Duh. Oh well, I hope I saved someone else... They just responded:

I apologize sir, but it states on our website that All sale prices are final
at the time the customer places the order.

Given mine hasn't even shipped yet, that kind of sucks. But I can somewhat understand given their daily price changes. I also appreicate that it only took then 20 minutes to answer my email.

Answer your question... Two sides. Check out the Photos I put up from my prior order. One is upside down from the other (see the DIMM notch on the left side of the twosticks1.jpg file)

I think these guys are located down near Potomac Mills in Dale City, VA (for us locals). I could almost swear that they've shown up at a few computer shows ... although I've never knowingly purchased from them.

In any case, I've been watching their pricing. Although I do not need RAM, I am tempted like a mofo!

Anyone know if this memory will work on the Intel 815E chipset (specifically Asus CUSL2 or CUSL2-C)

Thanks

I haven't tested myself, but the answer is "no" based on all the research I did. That is why my Crucial is going in the i815E system after my new order from UP arrives.

(I have both a Asus P3V4X and CUSL2)

I have the ASUS CUSL2-C and it takes everything I throw at it. What is special about this ram?

mrVW - Can you tell me about the quality of service you have receieved from UpgradePlanet? I want to buy a P3 CPU from them and according to resellerratings they don't ship until 3 days after your order. That is quite a lengthy delay. Any other problems?

I ordered a week ago and got the SyncMax ram (3 sticks worth). Put it in my Tyan S1854 board and it's working perfectly using Whistler. I'll try it in my Abit KT7A/Duron 700 (which I also bought from them) next and let ya'll know if SyncMax branded sticks workswith KT7A. I've heard ppl say ram from UP works in Abit KT7 and other ppl say 'no.' However, they are shipping 4 different types of ram (read from a previous thread), and no one has confirmed which type will work or will not work with the KT7/KT7A.

Man i ordered this stuff about two weeks ago and i was baffled when i paid 65 each for them but now they're 52 each???? This is nuts. Given the large number of people that probably bought this, they must have warehouses full of it. Anyway I orderd 2 of these sticks and are running great in my win2k system. No stability problems to speak of. I'm running an athlon 750 at 1100 with an epox 8kta2 mobo. Cas2 is a no go with this ram, but i think the benefit of having 512 megs of ram outweighs it. (No swap file) Anyway this ram is decent and for the price, 52 dollars, still can't get over that, its a very hot deal.

If it is SyncMax then it is not compatible with any Intel chipsets that I know of, will work with VIA Apollo Pro+ in Win98 for sure I have some. Won't buy anymore though not stable enough for 2K.

I run mine on a Windows 2000 server that gets VERY VERY heavy use. No stability problems whatsoever from the RAM.

I was going to order that RAM, but then after reading the Spec's on it from SyncMax's website I decided not to bother with it. Plus if it won't run at CAS 2 then I'm not going to spend the money.

I DID however buy a AMD Thunderbird 750 from them last week. It took 3 days to ship out and 5 days to arrive (2 days of shipping time were Sat, and Sun). When I got it, THERER WAS A FRIKKIN' BOOT PRINT ON THE PACKAGE and there was a tear in the package (not big enough to remove the CPU)!!!! It was in a bubblewrap envelope, and the CPU ONLY had 1 slightly bent pin. I was able to straighten out the pin and get it to run right now at 900. I have yet had the time to try and tweak it up any higher, but I'm sure I can get 950 - 1000 out of it without problem.

The prices are good, but the packing S*CKS !! Use them with caution....

fitzhue: They change their prices daily. The original thread must have had 50 price changes mentioned Seemed like every day it would go down $1. It went up a couple times... but few days later back down.
