I am setting up my new Alcatel Idol 4S GSM Windows 10 phone. Yesterday, I backed up my previous Windows 10 Mobile phone, a Lumia 640LTE. Today, I cut down its SIM card from microSIM to NanoSim dimensions and transferred the 128GB SD card to the Alcatel and installed the cut-down SIM. Don't know if it was a good idea but I elected to Restore the 640LTE's backup to the Alcatel instead of "starting with a clean slate," as the Alcatel gave as an alternative suggestion.
It took maybe 1/2 hour for the Restore, but I immediately got this head scratching message:
-------------------------------------------------
Delete other apps? This SD card has apps from another phone installed on it. To move apps to the SD card, the other phone's apps must first be deleted. Do you want to delete the other phone's apps from the card?
[Yes] [No]
-------------------------------------------------
What's that about?
There's maybe 20GB free right now on the card. Most of the used space is MP3s, most of which I can delete with no problem. I don't figure the message concerns free space. What exactly is the issue? It had said it would be updating/restoring apps in the background as long as I had wifi, but then this message comes up which I don't comprehend.
