You can get a barton 2500 as low as $79 (pricewatch). If you don't overclock, any nforce II ultra 400 board will work fine. The asus nf7-s version 2.0 is highly recommended for overclocking. Many barton 2500's will overclock at 200 fsb (posting as xp3200). For memory, you'll need some pc3200. Your old sdram won't work with newer cpus. I use generic from aib.com, but you may want to go with crucial. 2 sticks of 256 meg will work fine. You can order directly from crucial's website.

His memory(it isn't sdram btw) possibly will work if his mobo/memory is capable of reaching pc2700 so the Barton can achieve its rated speed or higher.
