Upgrading Mini-PCI wireless card

Tried some searches, but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

I got an Acer notebook (I think the Aspire 5672, I'll check when I get home from work) which came with the Intel 3945 A/B/G card. I'm looking at moving up to N (the Intel 4965 mini-PCI, in this case) without resorting to a USB or PCMCIA card. I'm positive that the card will work (mini-PCI is generally mini-PCI), but will the antennas still work? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It is possible.

However while in some Laptops it a process of opening a one simple external cover, in others it might result in taking apart half of the Computer (IBM Think Pad as an example).

So before you proceed, find the technical manual of your laptop and see what is involved in such "surgery" and decide if you are up to it.

I had a acer and it was easy to get to the wireless card.
My new HP notebook is also easy, but its not a mini PCI card. Its something else. Not quite as wide. mabey Mini PCI-E or something. I dont know.
