upgrading my laptop

I did not know where to post this question so I am trying here first...

I need a laptop GURU to help me out... I just bought a laptop from a close relative and want to upgrade it's CPU so I tried to find one on pricewatch.
Problem is that I can't make out what the specs should be for this machine.

Anyone who can help see the specs on my machine below and let me know what I need to know to match a faster CPU for this machine.

but AFAIK i think the X1000 is a pentium-m based model? maybe it's on energy-save mode hence its 600mhz speed? if it has a 15.4 inch wide screen then it has to be a pentium-m in there... see any sticker on the case?

You do know that where it reads 598 Mhz,that is what it has stepped down to...right ???
The cpu's on these step down when the full power of the processor is not needed to conserve on resources.
I have an x1000 myself.

GO HERE AND LOOK AROUND ....

They have everything for these laptops,yours is not a 598 mhz it is most likely a 1.3 or larger centrino which actually run at twice that speed compared to a P4.

This program is the answer to your problems. SpeedSwitchXP 1.4 Just keep it at max performace when its plugged it so it does'nt downclock trying to save battery.

so to answer OP's question: no your laptop is plenty fast as is, you don't need to upgrade. IMO it is a very nice laptop and i would want one too!
