upgrading my server

Greetings,

I have a server fitted into an antec VSK2000-U3 case.
the setup runs linux and operates two vms, a virtual router (running openwrt) and streamer (running libreelec).
looks like the current hw (i7700 + 32 GB ram on 128 sdd hd) isn't powerful enough to run latest libreelec so I might be in the market to buy a new hardware,
the biggest catch is the mb, I need to to have at least 4 pcie slots for nics and a 2.5GB internal nic
I'd like to keep the case, hdd and nics from current build.
I don't need an external gpu, an internal one will suffice, it will be passed to the streamer vm.
a good addition might be O/B wifi and maybe O/B bluetooth.
as this is a rather abnormal build, I'd like recommendation on builds that might support my needs.
budget-wise 1500$ tops

What makes you feel current setup/hardware is not enough?

i7-7700 has 4 cores 8 threads, did you allocate enough cores for LibreELEC VM?

By the way, there are quad port 2.5Gbe NIC available.

the vm stutter

i7-7700 has 4 cores 8 threads, did you allocate enough cores for LibreELEC VM?

I'm allocating 6 cores and 15 GB to the vm

By the way, there are quad port 2.5Gbe NIC available.

Hi, LibreELEC use the intel HD GPUinstead of Nvidia GPU ? My GPU is a GTX 960M with an I7-7700HQ. Even if HW is activated it's still Intel HD . Thanks

Although developer said VM is not really supported, It could be something else. I downloaded LibreELEC VM and it's allocated with just 1 core and 1 GB RAM

You also should pre-allocate disk space instead using expandable disk space, that makes a very big difference. So that the VM will not be busy at creating more space, and that could be possible reason it's stuttering.

i7-7700 also should be more than enough. what video file and format you are streaming? Are you using wifi?

If current setup with adjustment is still not working, you should run openwrt with a mini pc with quad port 2.5GBe and just use i7-7700 with LibreELEC, not in a VM though.

the problem is that widevine doesn't supported hw decoding inside libreelec for kodi

this looks like less that I need.
running libreelec as main os there requires me setting a nas and will not get much better performance because what I said above about widevine
