Upgrading RAM in old Sony Vaio

A friend of mine's got an old Vaio picturebook (PCG-N505VE model) and he's trying to upgrade the memory from 64 to 128MB. Problem is that I haven't really worked with Vaio's before so I don't really know what to do. Apparently there's no locking door that exposes the memory area like there is in every other laptop I've seen. Anyone have any idea how to do this upgrade without going to a Sony service center?

Yea I checked but it's a really old model....it's a Celeron 333, so it's at least a couple of years old. I got him to try to take out the screws on the bottom but the case wouldn't slide out neatly. Does anyone have any experience with upgrading RAM on the N505VE Vaio model?

just guessing here but you may have to remove the keyboard to access the memory slot if there isn't a slot at the bottom!

My SONY VAIO PCG-707 has a cover on the bottom about the size of a pocket comb that removes with a screw. I found a 128Mb SoDimm for $10 that works great.

So I removed the keyboard and didn't really find anything all that helpful. I thought I had found some place for the memory for a second but realized that it's for the PCMCIA cards instead. Anyone have a schematic or something useful for this model? This baby's really choking on 64 megs running Win2k. And I refuse to go back to Win98 or something DOS-based.

Anything??
Thanks for the replies up to know tho

I found detailed instructions in the Sony website on your exact model. They say there are four screws on the bottom marked with both a dot and an arrow that you remove for access. I more or less stumbled upon the page by accident. You might look some more. Believe me, it's there. I looked for information for my PCG-707 and there was a link to look for information on other models by series, and model. The query I used was "memory upgrade".
