Question Upgrading X34 purchased in 2016.

I am looking to upgrade my Acer Predator X34 34" 21:9 Curved Ips Gaming Monitor I purchased in March of 2016. However, the harder i search the more I see that its close to one of the best ultrawide screens still. I can't tell if that applies to the "new" x34s or my version. I like my resolution and size, but the colors lack real "pop". I do light gaming, mostly world of warcraft and can upgrade my GPU if needed. I just want a beautiful looking display with great colors. Gaming is a close second to that. Is it worth upgrading? Is my 2016 version the same as the ones that are still being sold today?

What is it about your X34 that you want to upgrade? If you are looking for colors that pop, then you want a monitor that supports HDR. HDR 1000 is the spec to look for this year, although the upcoming Acer Predator X38 has HDR 400. I think that would be the closest upgrade from the X34. Just be ready to pay. The X38 will go for $2400 when it comes out in April.

If you have an Nvidia GPU, look in their Control Panel at their "Digital Vibrance" settings, or consider switching to an AMD GPU, as in my experience colors "pop" more with AMD GPUs.

Maybe you need a monitor with a VA panel?
