I'm thinking about ringing up some extra cash during the summer months. I do have a day job, and I am entertaining an idea of a moonlighting job that would involve some manual labor to buff up a little.
I used to load and unload eighteenwheelers back in the days, so working with trucks is nothing new. I was thinking about UPS dawn shift (3:30 AM - 9 AM), but the hours are a bit too long for me. Ideally I would have preferred 4 AM - 8 AM, so that I could have a couple of hours of sleep before I switch to my dayjob.
Has anyone tried this? How much of a toll on yourself is it? Would I be completely exhausted by the end of the week?
Another thing is, the pay is not that great: $8.50 to $9.50/hour. I was thinking about checking out docks/ports - maybe get something there. I don't mind getting down and dirty.
