Snopes isn't always 100% accurate though. Plus, people tend to read something on there, then distort it or claim it as their own. A local newspaper column writer quoted Snopes as a source on something they were claiming as 100% true, even though on the site itself it claimed it was still undetermined.

It's always better to hear it from people involved, more interesting anyways
