Run everything @ stock speeds. Record the BSoD STOP error and possibly file name. check support.microsoft.com for what the STOP error means. Post back your results.

He means so we can learn from it and/or continue to help.

P.S. When you send an error report to Microsoft, no one actually looks at it. The error types are only used for data analysis.

STOP ERROR!!!

anyways, try doing an uninstall/reinstall of your graphics adaptor. that can clear it up sometimes.

I'll assume you are using XP Pro SP2, as that is the system I know best.

I would check your error logs, Control panel -> administrative tools -> Event log -->system.

See if there are any red lights saying things like "hard drive error" etc. Check the other logs too for odd reports of failures.

If that doesn't check out. Reinstall the chipset drivers.

If that doesn't fix it, then start moving stuff around to make sure that your IDE has a clear interrupt path. You can check the interrupts by going to the device manager and selcting view b--> resources by connection.

Look for stuff sharing the same interrupt as your IDE controller. you have probably a couple SATA controllers and a PATA controller. Try to move stuff around so that they are on seperate interrupts.

Also, if you have the Drive and ROM on the same controller try to move it to a different controller...so if they are both SATA, move on to the orange and one to the purple connector.

Basically, I'm guessing that you are getting an interrupt conflict when you write a bunch of data...either that or your drive has some bad sectors and is barfing on writes. The Event log should tell you if the drive is having issues, and the moving interrupts should fix a conflict there.

If this doesn't help, you will need to post more details about your setup...like type of CDROM, OS, patches...etc.

Could be a bad video card.

Could be bad memory.

Active X?

Bad Power Supply. 4 pin plug? 24 pin power supply?

Chipset drivers?

I descovered when the error occured but I don't khnow why. when I connect my hdd to yellow connector of my mainboard I have this problem, but when I connect it to purple connector i don't have any problem. my mainboard has only one ide port so i connect my two dvd rom to it.
