Haha, I totally called this a long time ago. Basically there are a few minor changes to our existing trade agreement, Trump declares victory, and things carry on as they always have.

What a tremendous waste of time and what a ridiculous reason to alienate one of our closest allies for such tiny changes.

Trump is really crushing it lately. He's getting pro-American trade deals in place, we're going to be less dependent on foreign oil, and we're reestablishing America as the leader of the free world under his leadership. He is likely the best president we've had since JFK.

What?! You downplay and belittle a clear Trump win, a move that is good for America? I'm shocked, absolutely shocked I tell ya...!

I simply stated the fact that the changes are quite minor because...they are. What percentage change in our GDP or our trade balance do you expect to see from this?

This totally not NAFTA that happens to be 99.9% the same as NAFTA seems totally worth the tens of thousands of government man-hours spent to make it happen.

Seems pretty clear that Trump wanted to blow something up and rename it so he could convince easily led idiots (30%+ of all Americans -- Slow isn't alone!) that he did something.

I see it as a brick in the wall, not the be all end all. I'm not going to guess numbers, but this is a clear Trump win and good for America, so of course you're not for it.

So in other words you're not disputing that the changes are pretty minor. Thank you.

I consider them more than minor, but yet it is but one step towards a greater America under Trump's leadership, and there is much more to do.

So what are the bigly changes that mean so much winning?

The biggest changes is that NAFTA is now called NOTNAFTA by Trump™ and some of the fine print buried in it benefits the Trump Clan in some way or another because Trump comes first and last in anything he does or says.

It was previously discussed by Trump and his close advisers (the family members) to rename it AFTANAFTA but it sounded too much like what Obama would name it so that went in the round file at the side of his desk along with last week's FOX programming schedule that's check marked wherever his name is mentioned.

We sell more Dairy in Canada as a result. I expected something better but I agree on the surface this is a Trump win.

I'm really questioning how much though, what exactly does 3.6% market access mean along with the removal of dairy categories? These appear to be the big changes but I'm not familiar enough with the dairy market to understand if this is really a win or just some fiddling around the edges.

So, uhh, this is like the denuclearization of N Korea, or what? Maybe Trump will fall in love with Trudeau like he did Little Rocket Man. Justin just needs to write letters of affirmation & praise, I suspect.

I know that all you've seen is the headline stuff... Canada conceding on dairy... Mexico on Auto workers... Those are simply the big ticket items.

- but I guarantee there is more to it in the fine details - none of which do we have yet.

What I'm saying is that the 'big ticket' items aren't particularly big. This is 99% the same NAFTA that Trump said was the worst thing ever. Hell, a bunch of the provisions make things worse for the average consumer in the US. (the price of cars is going to go up, for example)

Something like this is what China's been trying to do the whole time, give Trump some token concessions so he can declare victory and say he made the best trade deal ever and then go back to business as usual.

Trade is the one thing I was fairly hopeful about with Trump. This deal seems to be on the margins and who knows what we gave up for it, but any deal that helps slow a race to the bottom is helpful.

I wish it would've prevented Mexican trucks from delivering into the US unless they met all regulations including driver rest/pay.

If only Wal Street's success was success for most Americans.

Millions and millions of Americans work for corporations. Their valuation and how well they do have a great impact on our economy and in turn the average American.
