Without penetrating the fortress walls and gates those hoardes and their melee weapons would just have to sit outside and play cards. Given a reasonable amount of mortars, TOW missiles, LAW rockets, SAW's and M2's it would soon be stalled. Those dragons would take down a few first though, hehe, pretty hard to track.

Ooh! And I hadn't even tought about tear gas! I don't think Sauron issues MOPP gear.

Sauron's army would get their asses handed to them on an orc platter. His army was 10,000 strong, we have far more soldiers than that. Besides, if 50 Rangers can take out 3,000 Somalis, just think the damage a larger force would do to a bunch of overgrown penis heads.

are u sure france will be able to defeat an ant hill?

I figured the french army soldiers could each put their cigarettes out on an ant... So as long as there are more french soldiers than ants, they oughta be able to kill them inadvertently at least. Though, If the French had to rely on their superior weapons and firepower, I think the ants definitely would have the advantage.
