Yeah, but if they could get an impeachment through against Trump, it would prevent the bastard from ever holding a federal office again. Throwing him out under the 25th Amendment won't necessarily prevent him from running again.

Ideally, maybe they should do both.
Trump had guaranteed that he will never hold office again... sure he's got 10's of thousands of fanatical fucking idiot followers, but 10's of millions vote. The same applies to his wise and beautiful woman daughter, and incompetent fucktard sons.

"Several of the sources said the U.S. Capitol Police—with a strength of more than 2,000 law enforcement officers—might not act, or might be intentionally stood down, because many Congressional Republican leaders wanted the mob to amplify their shrinking voices that the election was illegitimate. There has been no confirmation of this claim. But it's notable that it took less than 15 minutes for the mob to gain entrance to the Capitol Building--and then virtually nothing was done to eject them.

Sources from other departments said the Department of Homeland Security—which had declined to use its mammoth army of law enforcement officers to suppress protests in Portland and other cities, ostensibly because they were needed in DC to protect government buildings—was making itself virtually absent from the scene for the transition. "

A lot of us were wondering this too...seemed too easy.

It's not fucking sad! It's good she's dead, vermin should be eradicated. I'm glad she's dead, just wish more of them were gunned down

No ... you don't.

Would have been an even bigger disaster then what we've got... I think things are quite f$#k#d enough thanks.

You are correct that treason does rate death ... if convicted at trial.

The top House appropriator charged with funding the Capitol Police vowed Wednesday to investigate the law enforcement response to the violent mob that overtook the Capitol building and alluded to firings to come among the force. Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) told reporters after the rioting had subsided that "there were some strategic mistakes from the very beginning."

I'm trying to wrap my mind around what is the most distressing about all of this:

The fact that this could happen on American soil, in the year 2021?

The fact that there are STILL members of Congress who are pushing conspiracy theories and falsehoods?

Or the fact that capitol police have probably been compromised and allowed this to happen? Which begs the question of how many other agencies (national or local) have similar issues?

He seemed rational to me, so I voted for him in 2016. But now I know he has got to go since he would sacrifice the country to remain in power. America chose Biden, and Biden will be president.

I think Trump will continue to call himself president and try to govern from the golf course. If he incites violence, he should be locked up.
he only seemed rational because you only listened to what came out of his mouth and never looked up his history. with a little due diligence it was pretty obvious.

I just don't see how anyone can be surprised this is happening on American soil in 2021. Hell he was building towards it in 2016 until he unexpectedly won. The only way you couldn't see this coming from a mile away was by not taking Trump seriously. It always disgusted me when I'd hear Democratic voters write these election lawsuits off as just a grift to raise money from ignorant Trumptards, this was always a power grab. And it's probably not over.

So... even after today's Trump-led insurrection, the majority of House Republicans just now voted to overturn the election in favor of Trump (specifically with regards to Arizona), albeit in a meaningless vote other than to record their siding with Trump for the history books.

121 Republican congressmen voting right now to overturn the election (at last count), joined by only 5 republican senators.

Cops took selfies with the "protesters" and took down barricades...and who knows what else they did to facilitate the taking of the House...

Sounds like at least a few of the cops who did this could be identified by the various photos and either fired...or brought up on charges.

Don't worry they will be charged with,
*trespassing on federal property without authorization
*acting in a manner that could cause harm and endanger the lives of federal government officials
*acts of domestic violence
*acts of domestic terrorism
*vandalizing federal property
*destruction of federal property
*attempt to access confidential and/or classified federal government information without authorization
*disrupting the process of government
*acting in an unlawful manner
*not obeying the orders of government officials to not enter a premises
*causing civil distress
*not wearing face masks
*Unauthorized possession of weapons at indoor or outdoor federal property.
*Making threats to government officials.

That is probably more than enough to put them behind bars at ADX Florence.
They were all let go.

The capital police needs to be relieved of duty. One of three things happened today 1) They allowed an active attack on our government due to incompetence. 2) They actively allowed an attack on our government. 3) They are too big of pussies to defend our country from an active attack.

Regardless of which one, they are not fit to protect our country. There are 2000 police in the CP and they were standing there watching them bust in the windows to Pelosi's office, thank god the SS was there and had the balls to actually defend our country.

No one would've gotten into the building if they were anything other than white nationalist. This is the biggest proof of white privilege and police bias I have ever seen.

Not to be picky, but it was 122 in the House and 6 in the Senate. We do not need to forget two of those who are participating in this insurrection.

She was attempting to gain entry to Pelosi's office, I doubt it was to shake her hand. I am glad the bitch got shot. The SS did their job of protecting our country from crazy assholes.

The other assholes are lucky that the majority of the police are also authoritarians, or else many more of them would've been shot today. If these were black people there would've been 100 deaths.

I truly believe someone in the law enforcement chain of command and/or trump admin for the capital allowed the protesters to overrun the capital.
The more I see about how "friendly" capital police were with people that stormed the Capital, there are a lot of questions that need to be asked.

It has been the long-standing goal of white nationalist movements to infiltrate law enforcement and other positions of power. I'll just leave it at that.

By goal, you of course mean completed action.
