Haven't US bills always had a unique serial number?l

OMG..i have never read so much BS...this is not ART BELL godammit

You probably set off the detector because the 20 might have a silver/metal strip in it - like other currencies have already for YEARS to make counterfeit harder.......and by coincedence the metal strip in the money had the same wavelength like they used in the store...eg. when you buy a CD they often have this strips which set off the alarm.

Look at a 20 and hold it against the light and check whether there is a metal strip somewhere

Ok..i didnt want to tell you this.....I may be in grave dangerby doing so....

Jim Morrison has a plot to overtake Elvis' Graceland mansion...he incorporated Big Brother government to help him...they track the $50 and $20 you spend on all velvet paintings...then
Morrison has his lackey Jimmy Hoffa track you down for some good ol' fashioned persuasion....

end of ridiculous, stupid geek conspiracy "the us government is out to get me" message

hmm i would think tracking all the new $20 and $50 (would guess $100 also) would be darn near impossible.

They do have small strips in them so they can tell conterfiet ones apart. doubt that is setting them off.

Just what I was going to say Oh, and with a pair of needle nosed pliers, you can pull out those strips quite easily. Once you have a collection of 100 of them, put them all in one place and see if the secret service comes snooping.

You're close but not quite. They're not RFID tags per say.

I can't go into any more detail on a public forum.

What kind of "tracking" would the government want to do? That's retarded. The infrastructure required to "track" the course of every bill would be enormous and darn near impossible to implement. Now, if it is something the government intentionally put into the bills that is setting off these RFID detectors, then they probably did it so they'd be able to detect people trying to move large quantities of cash through airports.

http://www.prisonplanet.com/022904rfidtagsexplode.html

So I came back from india a little while ago and obviousely we had a lot of US dolla's in our possession and when we went to HEB to get some groceries, we set off the detector! Immediately I thought of the bills. Took my moms purse she walked through, nothing. Took the purse, walked through and beep beep beep. Took the wallet from within passed it through beep beep beep. Yes its possible there could be something in the material. Then yesterday Walked into a walgreens had the same thing happen! I happened to be wearing just an undershirt and basketball shorts without pockets so i took out my moms money, 3 fifties and 4 twenties and walked through. BEEP BEEP BEEP.

This is rather unnerving. Sometimes it doesnt happen in some stores. But it has happened in quite a few stores. THIS is very bad news. I mean, now the government is tracking our cash money. The big brotherness of this is really unnerving. Yes it really doesnt affect me. But someday I'm plannin to be rich, and I wouldnt mind havin a load of cash stashed somewhere for safe keeping. I think that we the people need to do something about this. You all can try it for yourself.

The new twenties and the model before it, the new fifties. It rarely sets it off when they are alone, but if you have more than two of em...its really weird.

you're a moron...lean forward and choke yourself :|

Couple of things...

1. To keep the RFID from transmitting data, simply line your wallet with one of many available fabrics that have special linings etc...

2. It would cost the government much more $$ to set up RFID to track everything you did. If they were really that focused on tracking transactions, they simply go to a plastic society and all transactions are done with a credit card directly attached to your account. Paper money would never touch your hands and they have a neatly itemized spreadsheet available to them from the banks at any moment.
