WTF is going on? Michelin tires might not be able to take a full race distance on this track due to the banking in turn 13. Yikes!

Michelin is requesting that a chicane be put in at that turn to slow the cars down through there but so far the FIA have refused. They inteviewed a Michelin guy (I think) and Michelin basically said that they will not certify their tires for this race.

The Michelin teams are now taking to the track to form up on the grid.

Sir Jackie Stewart just said that he thinks the teams should boycott the race for safety reasons.

It looks like they're going to race though regardless...God, I hope they aren't making a mistake.

Well, the teams don't test here and with the new tire regulations this year the teams cannot change tires during the race. I wonder if they will allow the teams to change tires for this race.

Ralph Schumacher had a left rear tire failure at 200mph on Friday practice and hit the wall. He isn't driving today because of that accident. Last year he was knocked unconscious in a heavy crash at that turn and actually fractured his back.

Wow. That is a big deal. So unlike Nascar, the Grand Prix is more of an endurance race eh? I don't watch much racing, but I love Le Mans.

That would be really sucky for those drivers. If that happens, all the drivers should do the same thing. I do know a little about the point system, and having the tires drop a driver out of the race is really unfair. Especially when they decide to bank a turn and not allow a tire pitstop.

Rules say 8 cars must finish the race for it to be valid... there are only 6 cars driving w. bridgestone.

edit: = race will not be valid championship race!!!

EDIT: UK Commentary has just said it will count towards the standings as long as the race goes over 75% distance
