This is not going to be a popular opinion but there was a missed opportunity. The day Trump won the election, the DNC should have planned out the next 12 years of candidates and started making those people the darlings of rhe Democratic party. There are a dozen politicians who could have been elevated and put into situations to make them well-known and not controversial. After Trump lost, it was pretty apparent they didn't need Joe to beat him again. Trump was on a crash course to failure and they just needed someone bland enough to not get people riled up. Trump would self-immolate and the Dems had an easy win. The DNC has zero strategy and is playing politics from 1971. They should all be fired. I fear its too late for them to start strategizing like the GOP has since 1990.As the sitting president, he has "first refusal" for the election. If the party refused to back him...it would mean the end of the party. Do I think he's the "best" candidate for the job? Honestly, I don't know who the dems could field that might do better.
