Instead of complaining, how about we take this opportunity to remind as many people as possible that you are voting for policy, not personality. Biden makes a good candidate despite his age because he doesn't scare off all the absolute dogshit voters who somehow find themselves in the middle between center-right and insane-right.

That's a normative view or ideal you're putting forth there. You need a more expansive model which explains why our elections always seem so close.

I'm sure the Founders were aware that popularity or likeability was a motive for a good deal of the electorate. It cannot be denied. After that, we are looking at a basket of issues and policies, with an electorate that contains many obsessive nit-picker clutter-brains who don't look at the big picture. Then, the role of ideology or simplistic understanding of ideologies.

For all that, there's really no choice for voters of common sense and moral responsibility. Better to choose the good man with cognitive decline than the life-time criminal. I cannot understand why people think that they have a smorgasbord of choice, or who befuddle themselves after realizing that they don't have the smorgasbord they want.

Was wondering the same. Either that's been doctored or dude on the left is some big Icelandic or Danish guy, or related? Plenty of Scandi genes in the UK. Those guys can be big, maybe that's some jomsviking in a suit.

Though with Sunak being such an out of touch, feckless tart, feels like the odds of someone wanting him to look tiny are pretty good. I'm sure there are some pretty rough memes about him out there.

The way I see it is that right now we have the candidates we have. That means we are tasked with voting for the one that is best. It might be fun to bitch and moan about the choices we have or with we had others ones. But we don't.

And since our job is to vote for the better candidate why be defensive about it. It looks like I'm going to have to vote for somebody who supplies arms that are used to blow up Palestinian children. That's hard to accept. Not even sure if I can, but what is there to gain by running down the leadership of other countries. It just seems like silly defensiveness.
