Wonder which country is going to emerge as the new 'leader' of the free democratic nations? Many are mentioning Germany, which I think is likely. While the US still has military dominance, its respect on the world stage has largely been derived from its 'moral' positions and sides it has taken on issues that face the world. The Iraq war did a lot of damage to that image, but it remained intact, Trump has driven a stake straight through its heart though.
Meanwhile in Russia, things are looking up Israel as well, but this I would guess is due to how reliant Israel has always been on the US for arms and foreign aid, which is not going anywhere under Trump. I don't fully understand that relationship. I've always assumed it's driven by the evangelical fanatics and their myths that tell them Israel is some sort of holy land.
