i'm a liberal, but Iran is a REAL threat to us, and to stability in the Middle East. it's shameful that we attacked Iraq, and now don't really have the resources to attack Iran and hold Iraq at the same time. not to mention, if we attack Iran, they have terrorist cells set up everywhere, and would probably respond with several 9/11s.

While I see your point, the US wouldn't nuke Iran because it had nukes. I mean lots of countries have nukes. The US would nuke Iran because Iran would most likely do something to harm the US or one of its major allies with its nukes.

meh, the MOAB is nice and big and all, but it has no use right now. I am sure we have used it before but it can't do anything in crowded civilian areas since it has a wide cone of damage. its mostly for large clearings where a lot of units are gathered.
and for the record, its Massive Ordinance Air Burst, used to describe how it functions. detonates before impact, much like the atomic bombs did, and spread the damage below in a much larger area than if it hit land and detonated. it has less damage though than even the earliest nuclear weapons. (it uses 9 tons of H-6, which has an RDX base, which is slightly more powerful than TNT).
apparently there is a 13ton version out there too.

and btw, i dont see the US ever using nukes again. If we nuke Iran, we would likely see China and North Korea enter the mix, not to mention the retaliation of Iran.
a nuke in the middle east would be the worst thing we could ever, and probably ensure the downfall of America in every way possible, military first. We should have no way of ever saving ourselves from China and North Korea, and throw in Iran and other countries and that would spell destruction.

well as a country we want who has nukes to be the only ones with nukes. we really only have nukes anymore to use as a numbers game.. a 'we have more nukes than you, so don't touch us with nukes or you will be decimated' type of thing. we dont want other countries gaining nuclear capabilities because its a weapon none of the world wants to see again, and the wrong countries getting their hands on them could mean disaster. i mean, even if a country that doesn't have a problem develops nukes, those nukes could easily fall into the hands of the wrong people either through government/military corruption, terrorists, or simply that country handing them to other countries. the whole middle east is at suspect for that last one. most of the middle east would like to have their hands on nukes, and I wouldn't see most of those countries ever practicing self control by not launching them when in a conflict. they are pointless for they are too destructive and reach beyond what any country should ever do to another. there are means of destroying a country's political regime, thats the means of war. war should never extend to the destruction of innocent lives that are not apart of the regime.

because we nuked them... and then they surrendered so we said no you can't do this/that etc... so they didnt' and focused on their economy instead of arms

moab wouldn't do crap to reinforced underground bunkers, it's an air burst weapon design to take out ground troops. The nukes in reference are bunker busters, they are fired into the ground, where they detonate in hopes of knocking out the bunkers. (by bunker we're talking about large armored facilities)
