Bottom line, Trump wants this for 2020. Whatever he said about Obama was actually Trumps game plan all along.

Foooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooork it. Orange god damn moron.Well this sucks if it's really happening:
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran state TV says Tehran has launched “tens” of surface-to-surface missiles at Iraq’s Ain Assad air base housing U.S. troops over America’s killing of a top Iranian general.
State TV described it early Wednesday as Tehran’s revenge operation over the killing of Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
U.S. forces could not be immediately reached for comment.
Ain Assad air base is located in Iraq’s western Anbar province. It was first used by American forces after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion that toppled dictator Saddam Hussein. It later saw American troops stationed there amid the fight against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.
State TV said the operation’s name was “Marytr Soleimani.” It said the Guard’s aerospace division, which controls Iran’s missile program, launched the attack.
This breaking news story will be updated when more information is available.

They didn't have a lot of options. If they did nothing they would lose the public support they have in Iran plus lose the support of the military. Basically if they let the USA assassinate whichever Iranian citizens they want without an answer then there would likely be civil war in Iran.Well, that was a stupid response (Iran's response, that is).
Trump, not at all. As more info comes out, it is apparent that Pompeo pushed for this option. He should justify the why.

Pentagon is confirming ballistic missiles fired from Iran at US forces. NOT the piddly Katyusha rockets—ballistic missiles capable of packing warheads 100x more powerful.
This is now FUBAR.
Now we get to see if Trump was all talk, and if not, do we have anyone who's willing to stop him.Pentagon is confirming ballistic missiles fired from Iran at US forces. NOT the piddly Katyusha rockets—ballistic missiles capable of packing warheads 100x more powerful.

It's an "interesting" position to be in for the US forces.
They are under attack by an enemy force, whilst in a country thats asked them to leave, after releasing a missive stating that they are going to withdraw troops.
Just to get people from paying attention to his impeachment. After their idiot commander-in-chief did something really fucking stupid and forced them between a rock and hard place.
I suppose military secrecy is the reason behind delayed / no reports of damages yet?
I don't imagine 10+ missiles on a small base land softly....
Thank God the brain trust has assembled!Pompeo and Esper have arrived at the WH.
IF there were no casualities and IF the sane folks around Trump can restrain his worst impulses, this might not actually be that bad. There's at least the potential here for everyone to be able to declare victory (we got Suleimani, they got to blow up some American hardware) and avoid a war that no one should actually want.
That's a lot of "if"s though, and I fear that they're all entirely too unlikely.

You are at war with Iran. In no way is that "not actually that bad". Particularly when Trump took over when the Iran situation was in a good place. He took an improving situation and turned it into a war.IF there were no casualities and IF the sane folks around Trump can restrain his worst impulses, this might not actually be that bad.
