IF there were no casualities and IF the sane folks around Trump can restrain his worst impulses, this might not actually be that bad. There's at least the potential here for everyone to be able to declare victory (we got Suleimani, they got to blow up some American hardware) and avoid a war that no one should actually want.

I'd agree with your statement, seems it not smart to launch from your own territory when you have surrogates who can do it for you.
