The economy sucks but there's no way 1/6 people REALLY should be getting food stamps.
Good, it stimulates the economy.

50% of individuals in the country make less than $25,000 per year. Roughly 80% now make less than $50,000. Unemployment is reported as 9+%, but of course once you add in the unreporteds you're at what, 15-20%? On top of that, CoL (especially food) is skyrocketing. With those kinds of numbers the only amazing part is that the number on food stamps is so low. I'd expect 30-40% honestly.
I'm sure there are exceptions but usually these people are okay with living at moms house and sucking the govt dry. You never have explained why it's okay for this scum to sit on the couch for 10 hours a day and cry about being broke while I work my ass off from sun up to sundown and subsidize this bitch?
Genna Saucedo supervises cashiers at a Wal-Mart in Pico Rivera, California, but her wages aren't enough to feed herself and her 12-year-old son.
Saucedo, who earns $9.70 an hour for about 26 hours a week and lives with her mother, is one of the many Americans who survive because of government handouts in what has rapidly become a food stamp nation.
Sure thing. You just provide me proof that that's what's going on and I'll get right on that.
BTW, 50% of the country lives at moms house? REALLY? 165 million people live with their mothers? When there aren't even that many mothers living in the country?
this might have been true in 1950. since then, women have decided to enter the workforce and wanted to be treated the same. nowadays, you need two incomes to be socioeconomically equal to what the man brought home in 1950.
congrats women, you got what you wanted: to be treated the same. now you have to work for a living like the man, alongside the man.
the idea of the man bringing home the bacon is a figment of the past.
As long as people are willing to work for $9.70/hour - 26 hours a week, walmart will pay that. as long as customers are willing to support walmart, walmart will need cashiers.
So do we blame the lady willing to work for that wage? Do we blame the consumers who support the walmart corporation? Or do we blame republicans who are against raising corporate taxes... since ultimately if walmart pays more in taxes, they will charge more for goods, and probably pay a little less for cashiers. Or should we blame the politicians in Washington who continually need more revenue to feed the monster?
In 1950 the average house was ~1200sq ft. In 2011 the average house is ~2400sq ft. How many brand new cars were in the driveway in 1950 vs 2011? How many kids in 1950 were wearing the equivalent of $90 sneakers? How often in 1950 did families spend $30 to go out to dinner? How many TV's were in the house in 1950 vs 2011? What was the bill per month for TV in 1950 vs 2011?
There have always been low paying part time jobs. Just like there is an empty bunk bed in a prison somewhere. It's your choice if you'd like to stay there or not. Just like there is nothing stopping this woman from finding a better job.
I know poor people because I grew up dirt broke living in a run down house in a nasty ass trailer park. There are rare exceptions of a single hard working mom just trying to get by. For the most part though it's just lazy ass people sucking the govt dry because they can. Food stamps are a fucking currency for these people to buy drugs a lot of times or just like the receipt shown earlier for high dollar dining(steaks, lobster, etc..).
