You make it sound like people with guns kill more people than drugs, like, say, alcohol. Crazy I tell you!

Alcohol isn't poison per se. A lot of people fully enjoy their alcohol and don't particularly abuse it. Guns are killing machines. That is my point. The same comparison can be done with drugs. A drug that is just a killer (lethal injection), isn't what we're talking about, is it? Pharmacological drugs are designed to benefit mankind. Recreational drugs if not abused can be great. They are not simply killers. In the wrong hands or abused, they can kill and might kill more than guns, I don't have the statistics. However, guns are poison in America. America is not ready for guns and I think never will be. We need to get rid of 99% of the guns, melt them down. Make it a felony punishable by time behind bars to even possess one and in not very much time they wil be melted down.

Huh? So Drugs and Alcohol aren't poisons, and in the right hands and not abused are totally fine, but Guns are a poison, and regardless of their owners, the only intent is to kill people? How on earth are you able to make these assertions?

And firearms arent a killing machine either, per se.. The fact you think a firearms only purpose is to kill other people shows how skewed your thinking is. You make a case for drug use and alcohol use yet ignore that each of those kill more people per year than guns do.

Lay to rest? Look at the pro-gun posts above. People still think that the "gun problem" as seen by the left is about anyone with a gun. Of course it is insofar that it is impossible to distinguish a good guy from a bad guy, as exposed by Mr. Adams's words, but it's true that that point is irrelevant in a country with so many guns. The Las Vegas shooter was considered a good guy, following the American dream (including all the economic activity afforded by his purchases/gambling) by owning lots of guns (and presumably passing background checks), then he wasn't so good.

We're screwed. There's no way to live without guns, and no way to live with them in any society with "good" and "bad" people. Just look at what guns have done around the world. Guns won, and will win until (American) Man awakens, if ever.
