It sounds like "we" is Air France, and the post is a copy and paste from an ad, making it sound a little weird out of context.

AA, DL, US, CO, FI matched, others will follow. Not such a hot deal, but if you have definite dates the sale fares that invariably come along in the fall won't save much more.

Purchase by 5/15, give me a break. Airlines should be forced to be upfront about their fares and include the tax in their comeon price.

Artic ice code. You can get a fare much lower yourself. A couple friends of mine flew to London a couple of weeks back for $220. They only booked a week in advance. Don't get scammed by these people.

lax-bwi for 255 is about 5.5c/mi. NW has a 178 fare sna-was.
you could go from nyc-SINgapore rt for 665 which is about 3.5c/mi
I know someone who flew from PIT to Manchester NH one way today for $540 which is $1.12/mi
theres no correlation between distance and fares in the crazy world of airline tariffs, but $260 from east coast to PAR low season (plus about $100 taxes and airline surcharge fees don't forget) can be found in the fall with sale fares so why give your money to them now, unless you feel sorry for them
The site sharky mentioned has good deals.

A couple of years ago my wife and I travelled to Paris and we only about $320 each for tickets thru Continental/Air France in April. This is not such a hot deal. They will also have your money for a long time, I hope that they do not go banckrupt and keep it!!!!

I guess I mis-read the dates at first, but yeah this is only warm at most. Off season flights can be had for much cheaper, if this were for summer time it would be a steal. But as for all the haters saying americans will have a bad time getting harrassed in France probably have never been. I was there last November and had the time of my life.

USAir will file chapt 11 first (again), then DL. They have the same 'special' as AF. Just priced it for two psgrs, weekday tvl in Nov - came to $689 or $344 pp including taxes/fees, so only a warm deal, nothing to jump on now. Air France is merging w/ KLM and is backed by the gvt. I wouldn't worry about it going bankrupt, however they go on strike often. France is a nice place to visit, the majority of the population has no problems w/ American tourists.

> Air France is merging w/ KLM and is backed by the gvt.

Well, not really because:
1. European Union competition laws basically prohibit the French government from injecting money into Air France.
2. Due to the merger, the government is no longer a majority shareholder. Privatization by dilution...
