How do you know they do not use inventory tracking, and that they charge your credit card for products they do not have? Do not start rumors that are not true by your own experience of "trying to get in on a buy.com deal, once". Buy.com most certainly uses inventory control on their items, because their hot selling items certainly go out of stock frequently and their web pages reflect that their invertory is OOS. You can order an out-of-stock and they tell you it will ship as soon as it is in stock, and your credit card will not be charged until the item ships. Maybe very early on they had troubles of charging CC before they shipped but not at least for the last couple years. I ordered an item not-in-stock as late as 5-2005 and it didn't get shipped for over a week and I was not charged until it shipped. He's the email.Originally posted by: bubbalou32
Offer good thru Sat 11/25.
I realize that buy.com has constant hot deals but I'm unimpressed with their standing as an online retailer. I wanted to bring this to the attention of folks that still go to B&M stores and don't want to wait for rebates.
I did try to get in on a buy.com deal once, but they do not use online inventory tracking so they continue to charge credit cards for products they don't have. That in itself is not a big deal but they don't communicate that to you and don't respond to emails in a timely manner.

Also, when using a rating system such as resellerrating I have posted before that it is in the best interest of the shopper to look at other ratings sites, possibly Bizrate and Pricegrabber.com to name a couple. Resellerratings is a good site but it needs to be tempered with other ratings sites to get a better picture. If you used RR alone you probably would not shop at Amazon based on their 6.2 Resellerrating here. Amazon at RR How about Office Depot's 2.39 rating or Office Max's 2.50 reseller rating
Here is Buy.com at Bizrate
Also here is Buy.com at Pricegrabber
