At Buy.com $19.95 with $10.00 off Iogear rebate. Here
It's a 2 port card but the price is right. How many 2.0 devices will you use?

edit:
Back in stock! Price has been reduced to $19.63 with free shipping.
Combined with a USB 2.0 Flash card reader here
for $48.76 I just downloaded 220 Meg of pictures from a Microtech 256 card in 50 seconds! :Q
It would have taken an hour with USB 1.1

Before I spend more money that belongs to the school loan company....
when connecting a usb 2 device through a hub to a usb 2 controller. Does the hub need to be a new usb 2 hub? Or will the old usb hubs relay at full speed?

You need a USB 2.0 hub to operate at 480Mbps when connected to a USB 2.0 controller. Think of it as a 10BaseT hub connected to a 10/100 NIC.

I got the 2.0 card under the Maxtor brand (with NEC chip) a few weeks ago. It caused IRQ conflicts in some PCI slots causing ocasional lockups during data transfers. Make sure to research IRQ sharing on your particular motherboard.

Aren't you still constrained by the PCI bus speed? Isn't that 33Mb/s or something? Whats the limit on USB 2.0?

This card rocks. Combined with the IOGEAR Memory Bank compact flash reader Buy.com I just transfered 9 Meg of photos in 1.88 sec!
By the way, I had major hassles installing the Memory Bank reader, had to email tech support to get the proper drivers.
Three calls to tech failed to get the right answer. Now with the right drivers, wow!

PCI bus is 133Megabyte since it operates at 33Mhz in a 32bit(4byte) system

USB2.0 operates at 480Mbit/s that's 60Mbyte/s

Shagger, you're thinking of standard IDE, which is 33 MBps (not 33 Mbps). USB 2.0 comes close to saturating the PCI bus at full data transfer speeds (although it does have some overhead--so a USB hard drive will never quite as fast as the same drive placed directly on a high speed IDE channel).

Yeah I had heard that USB2.0 was fast but never HOW fast. What I get confused on is the notation of Megabytes / sec and Megabits / sec.

Is it MB/s or Mb/s which is which?

There is no free shipping because free shipping is only available with items that are "in stock". And this is shipping in 3-5 days not "in stock".
