I'm assuming that this is the USB 2.0 driver? I don't know that motherboard off hand so i don't know whether or not it has USB 2.0. If it is, then there's something wrong because once that's finished installing then Windows should restart. Unless you're running XP with SP2. I've seen cases where SP2 doesn't need to be restarted after installing USB 2.0 drivers.

Ummm, have you tried plugging anything into the USB ports to check and see whether or not they're actually working? You might be surprised to find that they are. Some of these drivers installations just go so fast it really does leave you wondering sometimes whether or not it did anything.

yeah ive tried to plug in my ipod and my mouse into the back, also ive tried multiple drivers. And yes it is USB 2.0. And i am running service pack 2. ty for the help.

Have you tried getting the latest drivers from the ECS' site?

yeah, i used the newest drivers and when it starts the setup program "hides", and i tried the cd but it doesnt work either.

I'm having an identical problem with my new setup. When using a 160 GB Western Digital External USB drive, it tells me I have a "HI-SPEED USB Device attatched to non-HI-SPEED Hub"

Tried installing drivers from CD, it pops up a text file saying SP2 comes with USB 2.0 drivers. I can't even find another application that installs HI-SPEED USB Controllers.

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1GB Corsair PC4400 XMS RAM, BFG 6800 GT. Win XP SP2.

Well, I fixed my problem. Apparently I had USB 1.1 drivers working fine, but USB 2.0 was not. So I went into device manager and right-clicked on my USB Controller, and then clicked uninstall. It uninstalled and went into the yellow question mark category. I then right clicked it and clicked on install drivers, and it installed the correct drivers for USB 2.0. My 160GB External USB Hard Drive now takes less than a minute to backup, as opposed to the 24+ hours it was taking before! w00t.

Glorious just got home from frys and bought a pci usb card and now itunes gets an error and closes. Its awesome.

Ugh please help!!!! Itunes continuously closes!!!!
