I have a standard 4port wireless router. I want to know if there is a piece of hardware that will let me plug in an usb hard-drive to my router i.e. some how adapt usb to ethernet? Or do i just have to get a new router that has NAS capability?
This product supposes to let you use USB devices that are already plugged to a computer over the Network. It does not convert devices to be USB compatible device
The product might help in using through the Network devices that are not usually Network devices ((like scanners, and webcams).
It does nothing for Hard Drives, CD ROMS, etc. since they can be shared as USB Devices through the Network to begin with.
i'm thinking of picking up a linksys nslu...seems like it does a lot of cool stuff. main thing is i dont want to have a loud and power hungry server and the slug seems like it'll take care of what i need
