Since few days I have the problem above. When shutting down the pc first shutdown USB then 5 seconds or longer does the system shutdown. If the pc is cold aka not long enough in use then this goes faster or better said instant. Before when I had pressed shutdown I never could see black screen, maybe 1 second then the pc did go down.
P.S. I thing a sata connection (intel) has a issue since it didn't recognize my samsung 830 , but marvel did, or any other hdd.

I7 2600k
Asus p8p67 deluxe
Vengeance 16gb 1600
Ax1200i
Strix 980 ti
Dc2oc 770
H100i gtx
Win 8.1 pro
Win 10 pro
Samsung 840 pro 256
Samsung 830
Wd faex1002
Wd 500gb black

Any ideas what could be the issue? On win 10 thought it was the Bluetooth since I didn't have win 10 drivers from asus and win 10 didn't recognize it 100%. But it continues to happen after fresh install on win 8.1.

Thanks for the ideas

If it has to be on other subgroup plx move it

I guess I don't see the problem? It's an orderly shutdown, and it is shutting down? Probably just a delay for the OS to write-back and flush the disk-cache buffers before shutdown.

windows disconnects usb devices during shut down for devices like usb drives so they can flush their buffer and not lose data when the power is cut. Perfectly normal.

are u on the usb3.0 plug?

cuz those are driver related... i would assume, as windows is closing down, it shuts off your USB3.0

Ye keyboard is on usb 3. I dont remember it taking so long to shutdown only when i had a issue with windows. But if you say so then i would accept it. I guess cant wait to upgrade it. Want to wait for broadwell-e or skylake-e if no huge advance.

Here a capture of shutdown.

No problem at all. The USB 3.0 is from an NEC chip, so it may behave differently than the ports on the Intel USB 2.0 chip. Some boards even keep power going the USB ports after shutdown (there is usually a setting in the BIOS for this).

Ye the usb 2.0 still have power to charge mouse(g700s) and headset(g930) after shutdown.

Thanks guys for the response.
