Only people that don't wish to get brain cancer by putting a transmitter next to their head. Better idea would be to throw out the wireless phone.

Do not want to make this debate on "Cancer By Cell Phone" topic-but for the record, once you plug into regular phones, it will eliminate even that risk-at least in home!!

they who wish to maintain their "expectation of privacy" in their telephone conversations should use a land line.

>>>justincase: that's why they make headsets. <<<

Point taken, but in real life, only a *very* small percentage of users actually USE headsets, even if they own them.

>>>It has never been proven to given cancer.<<<

Yes, it has. Unfortunately, just as with cigarettes, such information is generally suppressed, and nothing will be done about it until brain cancer cases reach a staggeringly high rate...and mark my words, it will.

>>>they who wish to maintain their "expectation of privacy" in their telephone conversations should use a land line.<<<

Very true...I used to have a scanner that picked up cell phone conversations - you'd be amazed at the types of things that people just broadcast to the world - banking and personal info, and a whole lot more.

Just got back from outside, as I do every day. Is there a point to the question?

I heard that microwave radiations that travel through those cell phones are so small that it won't have any effect at all. But I could be wrong.

showing your age
i am only in my mid 20's but a history buff none the less

This also reminds me of a recent Simpsons Ep F/The WHO in which the town is split by 2 zips codes and Homer becomes mayor of half the town. I also beleive in a previous EP they reffered to teh simpsons # as Klondike5...

Over the past 3 years, I've lived in 4 different apartments and 2 houses in different parts of 2 cities in 2 states. I've also had a couple of different models of cell phones and 2 different providers and all I can say is wireless is a LONG WAY from replacing land lines

everywhere I've lived I've had connection/dropped call problems when inside of a house

Justincase:

Beware of going outside. It is proven that radiation from the sun can cause cancer. I was also told that sitting too close to the TV would make me go blind. I grew up where all the paint in my house contained lead. My school was insulated with asbestos. I'm sure I ate vegetable that contained pesticides. I grew up in a house where my father smoked 4 packs of cigarettes a day. But the absolute worst of all:

Reading Anandtech Hotdeals will lead me to my finacial ruin!

I can use a police scanner to tap into your cordless phone conversations. For $30, I can make a device that decodes scrambled cordless signals. For $75, I can sit outside your house with a shotgun mic and hear EVERYTHING you say in your home.

Geeze...what are you so concerned about. You're not saying anything interesting anyway.

>>>Are the black helicopters hovering over your house yet?<<<

Ah, sh!t - I guess I have to answer that truthfully...yes there are in fact black helicopters flying around here, and they have been since September 11th. Picture of black helicopter near my house, taken 4 days after WTC (edit: since somebody asked, my other pictures of WTC are here. ).

Y'all can make all the stupid, wiseass comments you want about the subject at hand, but it doesn't negate what the studies conducted over the past several years confirm.
