I've been running mine for a few weeks now and have not had any problems with it. I've read about some people having issues with it, but to date mine has been running stable. For the price you just can't beat it!

built several systems with this board w/ duron t bird, xp cpus...all are working fine...get one...its not an overclocking board so dont expect much...but it is damn stable...

if u want overclockability with sis 735 chipset go witht he leadtek board...or go for a kt266a board...

hope that helps!

I love mine. It's been rock solid and I haven't had any real issues with it. It's probably the best motherboard I've ever owned.

I was a little worried about buying it because of messages I've seen from people who had problems with it -- but mine has been problem free. Also, this is the first time I bought a "cheapy" brand instead of a brand with a higher reputation like Tyan, Supermicro, Gigabyte or Abit.

I can't believe I got something so good for so little!

12 weeks and super stable. Had the Cbattery die a couple of weeks ago but they're junk to start with. I recommend it for the price/performance point alone.

I cannot recommend this board.

I have had to RMA two to Newegg because they died. The second one filled the room with smoke and took out the CPU and HS/F.

I got my money back (Newegg is a very good company!).

I got a P4 1.7/Shuttle AV40 and its a LOT nicer design of board/chip/hsf setup than AMD stuff (no more worry of broken cores and stuff!).

I had a few issues. After they where taken care of, the board turned out to be very good. I will be trying out the KR7A when the price gets down. That will probably be the best board for a few months.

<< I got my money back (Newegg is a very good company!). >>

Except they sent me the wrong mobo and want me to drive somewhere to have it shipped back, and me pay for the shipping. Then will reimburse me later for up to $10 shipping after I fax in the receipt. What a hassle. All for their mistake.
Also a person I spoke with a couple weeks ago (different issue) at Newegg was pretty unfriendly.

Built a few systems using this board, and no problems with it yet. Not many overclocking options, but for the price,
it's hard to beat for the performance.

Built a new system around this board three weeks ago. It's been running rock-solid under Win98SE ever since... although it doesn't have many overclocking options of which to speak of in the bios, I did manage to OC my 1600+ to 1.54 Ghz by bumping up the FSB to 147/147 using CPUCool. At the price-point ($60) for the performance (1800+ benchmark numbers) it's proven to be a surprisingly good purchase.

It's a shame that SiS735 hasn't caught on since this is a geniune alternative to the KT266/a and 760/761 chipsets out there.

Definitely recommended!

I love my ECS K7S5A It's so perfect I never crash at all the major issue I had trouble with is if you use a PCI video card then it causes problems with your onboard sound the only way I was able to fix it is when I flashed to the oldest BIOS file I could find (the first release) anyway they say there is no problems when using a AGP card but I still dont have an AGP card still rocking with my voodoo3 2K.

I got my K7S5A two months ago. As far as performance is concerned, i'm quite pleased under WinXP. The only problem i'm having is that my HDD (30GB Maxtor 7200rpm ATA100) scores poor rating in Sandra 2001. I'm trying to find a solution for that and i found a lot of people that had that problem too. The truth is that i don't experience a slow down in real-life performance, but those results made me quite surprised. Another suspicious thing is that voltages shown in BIOS are not precise, but this is supposed to be a problem with my generic power supply. I'd recommend using a high-quality one. Those bad voltages lead to a hang up in every warm boot (after shutting down or restarting XP hangs at the screen with the white line). After shutting the pc for about 15min everythings is fine. I'm not sure if this has something to do with my CPU temperature(42-46C), but I can't figure out another explanation for those hang-ups. As we forget about those issues the system is completely stable and doing well in performance. I noticed a 10% increase in 3DMark2001 after installing Windows XP !!! I wish you had no problems with that MB, guys...

Had a couple issues installing the audio drivers and connecting the case LED's. But overall its a very good board, never had any stability problems whatsoever. I highly recommend it, best Bang for the Buck right now IMHO. I don't really recommend it if your a TOTAL n00b but if you know a little something about computers then you'll be fine.

I'll add my 2cents. I'm very pleased. This is my first mobo swap, and the board has worked great.
Just ran memtest86 all last night with no errors. No boot problems. The onboard LAN and sound work ok. I'm using an old PCI video board, so can't comment on the AGP slot.
Be sure to buy quality namebrand memory and a good PS

<< Have you considered the LEADTEK 7350KDA?? Same chip set but more overclocking options.

Here is a review link VR Zone

VR Zone overclocking

They are available at Newegg.com for 103.00.

That does seem like a great board, but you can almost get 2 of the ECS boards for that price.
Or since you can't overclock with the ECS, you could get one ECS board and then you would have an extra $50 or so to get a better CPU compared to going with that Leadtek.
Also, the ECS will handle your existing SDRAM for now, and you can upgrade to DDR later when you can afford it.

Tbird 1.2 @ 1.25

cheap ddr/sdram support wat else can u ask for

setup was easy enuff, not many problems (cept when i keep pushing it too hard !)

but if u want overclockin options FORGET IT!

go for the leadtek sis 735 board or better still wait for the ECS k7s6A!

Is the K7S6A a follow-on to the K7S5A or is it a all new design?

Any idea when these might be available and what they will cost?

for some one plays games, and does content creation, leadtek board might be better. it seems to be about 10 % faster in pretty much every thing. and if its stabler than ECS board, extra $39 might worth it.

PS: it is not $50 more like some one mentioned, leadtek board has free shipping
